I was born and raised in the Christian home of Carl and Martha Killam. At age 7, I accepted Christ in Wiesbaden, Germany and was baptized. I am married to a wonderful woman named Luana and we have two children, Amber and Robert. I am a member of the First Baptist Church of Black Forest in Black Forest, Colorado.
I have served as Sunday School teacher for children, youth, and adults; served on Building Committees and Renovation Committees, taught Vacation Bible School (with my horse) and have been a deacon. Beginning in 1992, three events took place which God used to open my heart toward this unique ministry. The first was acquiring a horse. Next came a vision to use horses as a tool of ministry. The third event was adopting a wild mustang, which God has used to strengthen my relationship with Christ, my family and horses. The ministry is based around horse training and relationships between Christ and man, and man and horse. Thus the beginning of HorseGate Ministry.
